Terms and conditions
The terms that apply when you order from caviars.co.za.
Last updated 25 July 2026
1. Who you are dealing with
caviars.co.za trades as Cape Caviar and is operated by Pepper Group (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in the Republic of South Africa under registration number 2025/671291/07.
Registered office: 37 Buitenkant Street, District Six, Cape Town, Western Cape, 7925, South Africa.

2. Products
We sell sturgeon caviar in limited batches. Because batches are limited, a product shown on the site may sell out between your order and our confirmation. If that happens we will tell you and refund you in full, or offer an alternative.
Product photographs are of the tins we sell. Natural variation in colour and pearl size between batches is normal and is not a defect.
3. Prices
All prices are shown in South African rand and are the total payable for the product. We may change prices at any time, but never after you have placed an order. Delivery is charged separately as set out on our delivery page.
4. Orders
Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract comes into existence when we confirm the order. We confirm every order before it is dispatched, usually by phone or message.
We may decline an order — for example if a batch has sold out, if we cannot deliver to the address, or if we cannot verify the payment. If we decline after payment, we refund in full.
5. Payment
You can pay by card online through Paystack, or pay on delivery in cash or by card if you are in Cape Town. Orders outside Cape Town must be paid by card at checkout, because our courier partners cannot collect payment on our behalf.
Card details are handled entirely by Paystack. We never see or store your card number.
6. Delivery
- Cape Town — free on orders over R2,000, otherwise R150. Delivered by us.
- Rest of South Africa — flat R200 by courier.
You are responsible for giving us a correct, complete address and for making sure someone can receive a perishable delivery. If a delivery fails because nobody is available or the address is wrong, any re-delivery is at your cost, and we cannot guarantee the condition of the product after a failed attempt.
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.
7. Storage after delivery
Caviar is perishable. Once it reaches you it must go straight into the coldest part of a fridge and must not be frozen. We are not responsible for product that deteriorates because it was left out of refrigeration after delivery.
8. Returns and refunds
Because caviar is perishable, it cannot be returned simply because you changed your mind. If it arrives damaged, incorrect or not cold, we will replace it or refund it — the full policy is on our returns and refunds page.
9. Liability
We are responsible for delivering the product we described, in the condition described. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — for example a delayed dinner or a missed occasion. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
10. Events outside our control
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including courier disruption, load shedding affecting cold storage, extreme weather or supply interruption. If such an event affects your order we will contact you and either reschedule or refund it.
11. Intellectual property
The content of this site — text, photographs and design — belongs to Cape Caviar and may not be copied or reused without our permission.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.
